Accessing the MyCase Login Page
To begin, you will need to navigate to www.mycase.com
Entering Your Credentials
Once you are on the login page, you will need to enter your unique login information.
Click Login on the homepage (see image above).
Locate the fields labeled "Email Address" and "Password."
In the "Email Address" field, enter the email address associated with your MyCase account. This is the email address provided to you by your firm or the one you used when you first signed up.
In the "Password" field, enter your password. Remember that passwords are case-sensitive.
If you are unsure of your password, click Forgot your password? and follow the prompts to reset it and login.
Note: For security purposes, MyCase requires all users to reset their password every 6 months. You'll be prompted automatically when a reset is due.
Completing the Login
After entering your information, complete the login process.
Click the "Log In" button.
Every MyCase account is protected by Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA is a required security measure and cannot be disabled. You can receive your verification code through one of three methods:
Email
Text message (SMS)
Google Authenticator app
Your selected method determines how your code is delivered. Only admin users can reset MFA if you need to update your code receipt method. Learn more in our Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) article.
3. Enter the Verification code.
4. If you're on a device you use regularly and trust — such as your own computer — you can check the box next to Remember this device for 30 days to skip this step for the next 30 days. A couple of things to keep in mind:
This preference is remembered only on the specific browser and device where you select it. It does not carry over if you switch browsers (for example, from Chrome to Safari) or log in from a different computer or phone — you'll be asked for a new code there.
This is not recommended on shared or public computers.
5. Click Verify.
6. If your login email is shared across more than one MyCase account, you'll be prompted to select which account you'd like to enter after your credentials are verified.
Troubleshooting Login Issues
If you encounter difficulties logging in, consider the following common solutions:
Incorrect Password
If the system indicates that your password is incorrect, you will need to reset it.
Click the "Forgot your password?" link located below the login fields.
Enter your email address when prompted and click "Submit."
You will receive a password reset link at your email address. Follow the instructions in the email to create a new password.
Not Receiving Your Password Reset Email
If you requested a password reset but the email hasn't arrived:
Search your inbox for a message from [email protected].
Check all spam, junk, and promotions folders — the email is most often filtered there.
We recommend whitelisting this address so future emails from MyCase reach your inbox directly.
Still can't find it? Reach out to Support, and we can generate a new reset link for you.
"Incorrect Password" Right After Resetting It
If you just reset your password but immediately get an "incorrect password" message, your browser is likely auto-filling an old, saved password instead of the new one.
Open your browser's password manager and delete any and all saved MyCase passwords.
Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
Complete one final password reset.
This clears out your browser's saved login history before you reset again, which resolves the issue in most cases.
Incorrect Email Address
Ensure you are using the correct email address. It must be the one registered with your MyCase account. Check with your firm's account admin to confirm which email they have on file for you.
"Remember This Device" Isn't Being Remembered
This is one of the most common login-related questions we hear, and it almost always comes down to one thing: the browser is set to automatically clear cookies and site data when it closes — which erases the "remembered device" preference along with everything else.
To check this in Chrome:
Click the three-dot menu in the top right, then go to Settings.
Select Privacy and security > Site settings > Additional content settings > On-device site data. (In some Chrome versions, this is labeled Cookies and other site data instead.)
Make sure "Allow sites to save data on your device" is selected — not "Delete data sites have saved to your device when you close all windows." The latter will erase your MyCase "remembered device" preference (along with all other site data) every time Chrome closes.
Two other things worth mentioning when a client or colleague brings this up:
This setting is remembered per browser and per device only. It will not carry over if the same person switches from Chrome to Edge, uses a different computer, or opens MyCase on their phone instead of their laptop — MFA will be required again in each of those cases, even with "remember this device" previously checked.
If clearing cookies on close isn't the issue, try a different browser (Chrome is recommended) or a different device to isolate the problem.
Forbidden Error When Logging In
A "forbidden" error typically indicates that your user profile is no longer active. Reach out to your firm's admin user to confirm your account status, or contact Support for assistance.
Getting Logged Out Unexpectedly
If you're being logged out more often than expected, there are two likely causes:
Automatic logout due to inactivity. By default, MyCase logs you out after inactivity for security. You can adjust or disable this: go to Settings > My Settings > Edit Preferences, then use the dropdown next to Automatic Logout to change the timing (or select Disabled), and click Save Preferences. See Changing My Automatic Logout Time for details.
Your credentials are being used in a second location. MyCase only allows one active session per account at a time. If someone else — or you, on another device — logs in using the same credentials, the original session will be logged out automatically. Accounts are not intended to be shared between users.
My Client Is Having Trouble Logging In
If your client reports login issues, start here:
Confirm the client's portal access is enabled and that you have the correct email address on file for their contact record.
Walk them through the same troubleshooting steps above (clients do not have a MFA requirement for logging in to their portal).
If the issue still isn't resolved, try turning the client's portal access off and back on. This triggers a new welcome email, which lets the client set a new password and log in fresh.
