Overview

You can manage how frequently you want to receive notifications and the method you prefer for receiving them (email, activity stream, in-app bubble, etc.).

Notification Methods

MyCase uses three notification methods: email notifications, recent activity, and in-app notifications.

Email Notifications

MyCase can send you email notifications with updates and developments related to the cases that you are working on. As you will see later, you can edit the frequency of these emails (every 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, etc.). This will create a digest of notifications broken down for each case. You will never miss an important development in the office, court, or even on vacation.

Recent Activity Notifications

On your Dashboard (home page), you will see a section called Recent Activity to view the real-time activities occurring at your firm. The Recent Activity feed refreshes automatically.

  • Select All to see all activity.

  • Select Invoices to see recent invoice activity.

  • Select Events to see activities related to recent events.

  • Select Documents to see recent activity for Documents.

  • Select Tasks to see activity related to recent Tasks.

  • Select Deleted to see recently deleted items.

In-App Notifications

Events like new document uploads, new calendar events, new messages, etc., can have in-app notifications.

  • Notification Triggers: The first column displays every notification trigger in MyCase. For example, you can set what notifications you'd like to receive when a new case is added to the system, an event is deleted, etc.

  • Send An Email: For each notification trigger, you can choose whether to receive an email notification.

  • In Activity Feed: You can choose whether to receive a notification in your Recent Activity feed for each notification trigger.

  • In-App Notification - Certain notification triggers can be delivered as In-App Notifications. You can enable or disable in-app notifications for various event triggers.

Editing Notification Settings

  • Click Settings.

  • Under the Personal heading, click My Notifications.

  • Select which  Recent Activity notifications you want to receive on the Notification Settings page by clicking the check box under In Activity Email, In Activity Feed, In-App Notification or all three. Please note that any changes to these settings only affect your account. Enabling or disabling notifications for yourself will not impact other users' notification settings.

  • Select Individual Notifications to set notifications for actions taken, such as a message sent or a successful payment.

Email Notification Frequency

  • To select the frequency of email notifications, select the drop-down next to Recent Activity Email Frequency under the Recent Activity sub-tab in the My Notifications window.

  • Choose how often you want to receive an email with all your notifications. You may opt for more frequent emails by selecting the Send every 5 minutes option or reduce your email notifications by picking the Send every hour option.

  • Emails will be sent only when there are notifications to report. For instance, if you have selected the "Send every 30 minutes" option and there has been no activity in the last 30 minutes, you will not receive an email.

Turn Off All Email Notifications

Select Turn Off from the drop-down menu if you don't want to receive email notifications about actions in your MyCase account.

Note: Two event triggers always send email notifications: new messages and comments. You will always receive an instant email and an in-app notification when you receive a new message or comment.
