Work In Progress (WIP) Report

The WIP Report provides a comprehensive view of unbilled time and expenses to help firms streamline billing, protect revenue, and track case progress.

Overview

The Unbilled Work Report (WIP) is your key to a complete view of all time and expenses that haven't been invoiced yet. It's designed to help you streamline your billing process, protect your firm's earned revenue, and easily spot any potential roadblocks.

The core question this powerful report answers for you is: "What billable work is ready to be invoiced, and how long has it been waiting?"


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Locate and click the Reports tab in the left-hand navigation pane.

  2. Under the Productivity Reports section, select the Work in progress Report.

  3. In the top-right corner, click Customize Report. You can tailor the output by:

    • Core Data Points: Client, Case, Activity, Date, and Total Days Unbilled.

    • Filtering Options: Refine your view by Date Range, Client, Case, Lead Attorney, Originating Attorney, Firm User, Practice Area, Office, Case Status, Case Stage, Billing Type, Revenue Account, Referral Source, Recent Activity (in days), Days Unbilled (in days), and Custom Fields.

    • Metrics: Easily calculate totals, averages, unique counts, minimums, and maximums across your data.

  4. Once you have customized the report to fit your needs, click Run Report.

  5. Once the report is generated, click the More button to print, export, refresh, or save your report.
