Choose from 9 different field types

When you build your templates, you will be presented with different Field Type options. Please review the options below to find the best option to suit your needs:

1) Short text

  • Allows for simple, flexible, one-line text entries

  • Does not support hard carriage returns. The text will wrap

  • Text will inherit the styling of the document where the field is inserted.

2) Long text

  • Multiline text" fields are like single-line text fields, but with the added flexibility of multiple lines

  • Hard carriage returns used in the field are recognized by Word

  • Text will inherit the styling of the document where the field is inserted.

3) Rich text

  • Allows for multi-line, rich-text formatting. This means that you can specify text fonts, colors, alignment, and more

  • Text will use styling specified in the Rich Text field.

4) Date

  • "Date" fields allow you to choose a date using a date-picker

  • Select the desired Date format from the Format dropdown.

5) Number

  • "Number" fields only validate the data being entered is numeric.

6) Single select

  • "Single select" fields allow you to specify a list of predefined options that can be selected via a dropdown ( there is no limit on the number of options)

  • You can select one option from the dropdown.

7) Multi-select

  • "Multi-select" fields allow you to specify a list of predefined options ( there is no limit on the number of options)

  • Any option or combination of options can be selected via a dropdown.

  • You can specify the separator that the selected options will be joined by.

8) Conditional

  • "Conditional" fields allow you to specify a list of conditions that dictate the value of the field

  • These conditions take into account the values of other fields within your document and can be really helpful when dealing with varying words, phrases, or clauses

9) Formula

  • “Formula” fields allow you to specify dynamic calculations that depend on the values of other fields within your document

  • “Formula” fields support almost any Excel operation and can be chained together
