Overview
You can integrate Dropbox with MyCase for easy document organization, editing, and more. Dropbox integration also ensures that files related to your cases are stored in corresponding Dropbox folders, eliminating manual transfers and helping maintain organized case documentation.
We recommend a firm admin install the Dropbox integration, as renaming or moving synced folders will break the integration and require reinstallation, including manually relocating all case documents folder by folder.
Install the Integration
Click Settings in the top right-hand corner.
Select "Integrations & Apps".
Click "Set Up" on the Dropbox section and follow all prompts to give MyCase access to Dropbox.
If reinstalling the integration, start by uninstalling the Dropbox integration in MyCase.
Locate and rename the existing 'MyCase' folder in Dropbox to 'MyCase - Old'.
Reinstall Dropbox on the desired MyCase account.
Rename the newly created 'MyCase' folder back to the original 'MyCase' name if needed.
You will then see a "syncing" page until the integration is complete. Then, you will be brought to a success page (if there are any errors with the sync, this page will let you know).
If you receive the message 'Set Up Temporarily Unavailable' please reach out to [email protected] and we will uninstall the integration from the backend.
If there is already a folder in Dropbox named MyCase you will receive the following message, please rename the existing folder and reinstall.
What the integration looks like in Dropbox
You will now have a folder named "MyCase" that contains a folder for each of your cases. Adding documents to these case folders within Dropbox will allow you to see those documents within each case in MyCase. When converting a lead to a case, Dropbox will create a folder reflecting the case name at the time of conversion, which cannot be renamed for syncing purposes.
What the integration looks like in MyCase
You will see a Dropbox folder within your cases documents section which contains any documents and folders that are added to the specific case folders in Dropbox. Note that the Dropbox folder location must remain unchanged. Moving it could disrupt the syncing process, so ensure it stays in its default location.
Only one MyCase account can be synced with Dropbox for your firm. That MyCase account will be used to share documents with the rest of your firm, so it is recommended that this person who installs the sync has access to all cases. Additionally, keep in mind that MyCase and Dropbox synchronization depends on maintaining folder fidelity.
