What will my client see when I add a comment?

This article walks you through what your client sees after a comment is left on a shared item.

Overview

In 8am™ MyCase, all comment streams are tied to a particular item, such as a document, calendar event, etc. Who can see the comment stream depends on the item's sharing settings.

If the item is shared with someone, such as a client or firm user, that person can view the comment stream for it.


When a firm user or client comments on an item, everyone who is linked to that item is alerted that a new comment has been added and prompted to log into MyCase to view the comment. ​​


Once logged in to view the comment, your client sees the item commented on in their Recent Activity. They can click on it to see the comment itself.
