How to Export Data from Rocket Matter

The objective of this article is to export your data from Rocket Matter to be imported into MyCase. Please note that the success of your data migration into MyCase depends on the quality of your data set. This includes exporting your data in .csv or .xlsx format, ensuring headers are in the top row of the spreadsheet, and removing duplicate entries.

Matters

  1. Log in to Rocket Matter

  2. Click Matters on the left sidebar.

  3. Click “Edit Filters”

  4. Under “Matter Status” select all of the options (Open, Closed, and Completed) and then click apply filters

  5. Click “Show/Hide Columns” and make sure all of the columns are selected

  6. Click “Export Report”.

Contacts

  1. Select Settings in the left navigation bar.

  2. Under Data, click on Export Contacts.

  3. Choose “CSV” as the format

  4. Click “Export”

Time Entries/Expenses

  1. Click Reports on the left sidebar.

  2. Click Run Report on "Billable Activity by User(s)"

  3. Select Edit Filters

  4. Choose the Date Range of Activities to export.

  5. Under “Find billable activity for Users”, click “Add All”

  6. Under “Activity Types to Show”, select Billable, No Charge, and Non-billable

  7. Under “Show with invoice status”, select “Non-Invoiced”

  8. Under “Include Expenses”, select “Include Expenses”

  9. Click on “Apply Filters”

  10. Click on “Export Report”

Accounts Receivable

  1. Click Matters on the left sidebar.

  2. Click “Edit Filters”

  3. Under “Matter Status” select all of the options (Open, Closed, and Completed) and then click apply filters

  4. Click “Show/Hide Columns” and make sure only these columns are selected:

    1. First Name/Company

    2. Last Name

    3. Matter

    4. Current Balance

  5. Click “Export Report”

Trusts

  1. Go to “Reports” on the left sidebar

  2. Select the report with the title “I want to see all of my trust transactions by client”

  3. Chose the Date Range of Trust Balances to export

  4. Click “Export”
