MyCase's Multiple Timers

Updated over a month ago

Overview

MyCase has up to ten built-in timers for tracking your time spent on various activities. You can submit a time entry for each activity.

  • You will notice a yellow button labeled Start Timer near the top right corner of the screen.

  • Click Start Timer to begin tracking your time.

  • Once the timer starts counting, you can add the Case Link and an optional Description for the time entry. You then have the option to:

  1. Pause: Pauses the timer. You can then resume tracking your time whenever you'd like.

  2. Pause & Save: Stops the timer and opens a new time entry window (with the Case, Description, Rate, and Duration pre-populated based on the time you just tracked).

  3. Pause & Delete: Stops the timer and opens a dialogue box confirming you want to delete the timer or cancel that action:

  4. Start New Timer: Pauses your current timer and start a new timer. There is a maximum of 10 timers. Only one can be running at a time.

Timer Tab Header

  • The Timer Tab Header indicates the number of active timers. If a timer is running, it shows a green dot and displays the active timer's duration.

  • If you have paused timers but none are running, a red dot and the number of paused timers appear

What happens if you log out?

  • If you log out of your MyCase account with a timer running, a dialogue box appears, reminding you of that running timer and confirming your log out.

  • If you close your browser or are automatically logged out of MyCase, the timer will automatically pause for you.

You can move from page to page within MyCase while your timer runs and not lose time. The timer always stays displayed in the top right corner of the screen.
